Edinburgh's Toughest

Edinburgh's Toughest is a race up Arthur's Seat.  A social adventure! 

When:  Saturday 7th April 2018, 2pm start

Route: Up and down Arthur's Seat!
         Long route is 5.7km with 1091 feet of climb  
       Short route is 4.2km with 731 feet of climb            Children's Fun Run is 2.6km with 225 feet of climb  
NB: Due to Historic Scotland restrictions the turn around will be at the col about 10metres in height from the summit. 



Entry:  For 2018 there is a maximum entry of 300 participants so we advise entering early to avoid disappointment!

THE COURSE:
    The long route is 5.7km with 1091 feet of climb.  The short route is 4.2 kilometers with 731 feet of climb. The start and finish will be at St Margaret's Loch. The route follows the road up to Dunsapie Loch before joining the grass path up towards the summit of Arthur's Seat (return on the same route back to the finish).  NB: Due to Historic Scotland restrictions the turn around will be at the col about 10metres in height from the summit. 

The RACE:  2:00pm mass start for all classes. Edinburgh's Toughest is a physical challenge up Arthur's Seat - run, walk or crawl in your own time. A social adventure! A minimum age of 12 is required to participate (5-12 years for Children's Fun Run).  Junior class is 12 to 16 years old; a 17 year old on the day of the race is classed as an adult.. 

Team Event:  The Race includes a Team Event for sports clubs (3 to count) and businesses (5 to count).

PRIZES / AWARDS:  First 3 in each long class (Men, Women), 1st prize only in Junior Men and Junior Women as well as short classes. Team prize for winning team (3 to count). Also, many Spot-prizes.  Prizes for the top business team!

FIRST AID / INJURIES:  The event is a strenuous one, and the organisers cannot accept responsibility for any accidents or injuries. First-aid kits will be provided to race marshalls. First aiders will be available at the start, on the course and at the finish. Anyone withdrawing during the event must inform a race official.

CAR-PARKING:  Please come by public transport/foot/bike if possible. On street parking is available around the adjacent streets

REFRESHMENTS:  Refreshments will be available at the start, finish and on the course.
 
RESULTS:  The full official results will be put onto the event's web-site asap.
